Govt: Volkswagen Group Rus to fire 300 people in Kaluga Region
YAROSLAVL, May 21 (PRIME) -- The plant of Volkswagen Group Rus in the Kaluga Region plans to fire about 300 employees by September due to the pandemic, the Labor and Social Policies Ministry of the region said in a statement late on Wednesday.
"The employer plans to introduce a four-day workweek by starting dead time Fridays each week. The employer is in negotiations with the workers on termination of labor contracts on mutual agreement with compensation payments," the statement read.
According to the ministry, 92 workers have already signed termination with compensation of six average wages.
